摘  要：车牌照识别是图像识别领域的重要研究课题。运用MATLAB对车牌识别技术中的图像预处理、车牌定位、字符分割与字符识别等进行了研究，提出了一种基于MATLAB的车牌识别系统的实现方法。综合使用了多种方法提高系统的有效识别能力，解决了在自然背景的图像中定位分割牌照区域、车牌倾斜和提取分割的字符等问题。通过对一定数量的车牌图像进行处理，结果表明基于MATLAB的车牌识别方法成功有效。
